Iwaki Factory, located in Iwaki City, Fukushima
Prefecture, is the manufacturing base for many of Kureha's products.
and is one of the largest integrated chemical plants in Japan.
An enormous site of 1,115,000m2, it produces a wide variety
of products such as plastics, chemicals, carbon products and pharmaceuticals.
One of the major products produced at the site is polyvinylidene chloride
resin, the raw material for food packaging materials like NEW Krewrap.
Kureha's original and innovative technologies
have been central to the plant's success, which
has produced specialty products for markets throughout
the world. The site is equipped with a power
plant and is adjacent to Kureha Ecology Management Co., Ltd.,
which treats industrial waste, providing both
the efficiency and environmental requirements
to make it an ideal manufacturing base.
Furthermore, as part of Kureha's commitment to contribute to the communities
in which it operates, a number of facilities at the site are open
to the public, including leisure facilities and Kureha General Hospital. |
